Centers

1. Russell Bodine - 6'3" 310 Ilbs. 5.18 40 North Carolina - 5.7- Bodine may be the safest Center prospect in the draft. He is very strong putting up 42 reps in the bench press at the combine. He looks solid on film. Is better in tight quarters but does show the ability to get to the next level. Shows the mean streak you like to see. Bodine also showed good athleticism at the combine with a 5.18 40 time and a 29 inch Vertical Jump. He doesn’t look incredibly strong or athletic on film but it is nice knowing he has those abilities. Seems to lack elite leg drive, more of a hand puncher. Started 27 of 34 games at UNC and has had no major injuries to speak of. Most mock drafts I’ve seen have a 3-4 Round grade on Bodine. I think he would be a solid pick in Round 2 and should contribute right away and become an NFL starter at Center.

2. Weston Richburg- 6'3" 398 Ilbs. 5.10 40 Colorado State - 5.6- Good College player who was a 4 year starter and never missed a game. Moves well for the position. A little undersized, needs to gain weight and strength without losing quickness. Can make all the blocks on film. Good leader. Has the Football smarts to make the line calls at the next level. Could possibly play Guard. Held his own vs Alabama but struggled to finish blocks. Doesn’t have the power to be effective in run game right away. Is more of a zone blocker. Needs to go to the right team. If he does go to the right team he can possibly start right away. Weston is a sleeper who has the upside and ability to become a starter in the League. He’ll be a good value if he’s picked after the 2nd Round.

3. Marcus Martin - 6'3" 320 Ilbs. N/A 40 USC - 5.6 - Marcus was a good player in College and certainly looks the part. He has all the tools and looks like a beast on film at times, although not nearly as much as I would like. He gets lost or overpowered more than he dominates. Looks just average most the time on film. Could miss assignments at the next level. Inconsistent in both pass and run blocking. Has more upside as a run blocker but is probably a better pass blocker right now. Martin is recovering from a knee injury he suffered vs UCLA. His draft stock probably depends on how healthy that knee is. He certainly isn’t going as high in mock drafts as he was before the combine. Could be a starter as a rookie and has a high ceiling. If his knee is alright Martin should go in the 2nd Round. I have to downgrade him a bit due to his injury. If he’s healthy and falls to the mid rounds he can be a real steal.

4. Travis Swanson - 6'5" 312 Ilbs. 5.28 40 Arkansas - 5.3 - Played against a lot of tough DT’s in the SEC. Held his own most of the time on film but does not look overly impressive. More of a pass blocker than mauler in the run game. Does not look strong on film and only put up 20 reps at the combine. Travis does finish his blocks and show a bit of a mean streak when he really gets his hands on someone. Swanson is durable and was a good player in the best conference in College Football. He should be able to catch on right away. The question is how good will he be? He doesn’t seem to have much upside physically and needs to improve his strength and feet. Considering the lack of talent at the Center position in the NFL he is worth a look on Day 3 of the draft.

5. James Stone - 6'4" 306 Ilbs. 5.17 40 Tennessee - 5.1 - Stone is one of the more solid looking Center’s in the draft on film. Moves well enough. Isn’t spectacular and took some lumps in the SEC but is also more NFL ready because of it. James has NFL size and could get bigger. More of a finesse player than a mauler. Does not finish blocks well. Stone was not a Stand Out in College but he has a lot of experience at a high level. He is a good enough player with the size and ability to be a solid Day 3 pick. Most grades I’ve seen for him are Round 7 or Undrafted.

6. Tyler Larsen - 6'4" 314 Ilbs. N/A 40 Utah State - 5.1- There isn’t much film available for Larsen. He looked pretty good against BYU. He did seem to wear down a bit in the 4th quarter. Moves well and finishes blocks. Has good strength put up 36 reps at the combine. He is certainly not going to dominate right away at the next level but the strength and athleticism appear to be there. I don’t have much to go on here but in the 1 game I watched he looked better than a lot of the Center’s in this draft. I wouldn’t be surprised if he has the ability to become a starter in the NFL. Late Round Sleeper.

7. Corey Linsley - 6'3" 296 Ilbs. N/A 40 Ohio State - 5.0 - Doesn’t move well and has short arms. You can see it on film. Has good strength (36 reps at combine) and does have the ability to dominate in small spaces. Is more of a weight room guy but does have a strong hand punch. Linsley is not an ideal prospect but has good upside in the run game. He may also be able to back up at Guard so he has some value in the late rounds.

8. Gabe Ikard - 6'4" 304 Ilbs. 5.13 40 Oklahoma - 5.0 - 4 year starter for Oklahoma. 3 time 1st Team All-Big 12. Doesn’t look great on film. Is a solid player but looks to have average speed and strength. Doesn’t move that well. Ikard is a smart player and hard worker who was a very good College Football player. Ikard doesn’t look like an NFL Starter but he should get drafted and find a way to make a team.

9. Jonotthan Harrison - 6'3" 304 Ilbs. 5.15 40 Florida - 4.8- Harrison doesn’t look good of film. Misses a lot of blocks and ends up on the ground a lot. He does not finish blocks well and he would need to excel in this area to be effective at the next level. He does have the size to add strength and did show enough as a run blocker to be a fringe prospect.

10. Bryan Stork - 6'4" 314 Ilbs. N/A 40 Florida State - 4.6- Started and was the leader of the O-Line for the National Champions. Outside of that there isn’t much to like about Stork. He doesn’t move well on film. He isn’t very strong at the point of attack. Has stiff hips and plays with short arms. Plays too high. He has had issues with headaches in the past. Stork is not an outstanding prospect but has played every position on the line and is a hard worker. He will likely get drafted late and has a chance to stick.

Unranked

Josh Allen - 6'3" 312 Ilbs. N/A 40 Louisiana-Monroe - Has ideal size and has played Guard. Could get drafted late. No film available.

Matt Armstrong - 6'2" 302 Ilbs. 5.32 40 Grand Valley State - Small School versatile prospect who has the size and strength but maybe not the athleticism to make it in the NFL. No film available.

Matthew Paradis - 6'3" 306 Ilbs. 5.34 40 Boise State - Hard working leader type that will likely go undrafted and make a team.

Zac Kerin - 6'4" 302 Ilbs. 5.2 40 Toledo - Has short arms and is an average athlete. May have a meanstreak. Could be drafted late.
