2017 Corner Backs

1. Marshon Lattimore* 6'1" 192 20 Ohio State 88

One of the few sophomores to come out and be rated the best at a position. In Lattimore's single year to judge off, he played well notching 4 interceptions and 11 total passes defended. He has everything you want at the position in terms of size, strength, and speed (40 time 4.36). It is risky putting a top ten pick into a player who has only showed one year of college play. However, he is the best Corner around the web and in the inner circles, so if he busts then everyone is wrong.

2. Tre'Davious White 5'11¼" 195 22 LSU 85

Has good combination of height, weight, and speed (40 time 4.47). Four-year starter for LSU which tells you he has held a starting position in a secondary that is known for producing NFL starting cornerbacks. He has the strength to fix the one flaw of his game, which is run support. He has more experience than all of the corners rated ahead of him combined in the most competitive conferences. Tends to go for the pass break instead of the interception. Most see him as a slot corner at the next level, I disagree he will play on the outside.

3. Adoree' Jackson* 5'11" 185 21 USC 83

Rarely do you see someone play on both sides of the football as much as Jackson. For the past three years Jackson has contributed as a: WR, CB, KR, PR and anything else you need him to do. With excellent athleticism and all around football talent, Jackson is one of my favorite players in the draft. Teams think that he might have to be limited to only playing on the inside. I disagree, Jackson is going to find a way to be on the field as much as possible and will make any secondary better.

4. Cordrea Tankersley 6'0⅜" 194 23 Clemson 82

Tankersley had quietly remained at the top of an otherwise static corner class. Seeing players rise above him and fall behind him on the charts, his steady rise to relevancy has shown his ability to continue to improve. Two-year starter for the national champions, there is no doubt that he played a key role in the team's success over the past two seasons. Prototypical height, weight, and speed (40 time 4.40). He has been a lockdown corner for the best team in the country for the past two seasons and he will continue to do so at the next level.

5. Marlon Humphrey 6'0" 197 20 Alabama 79

Ideal height, weight and speed (40 time 4.40). His athleticism is also a flaw, he relies too much on his natural ability and forgets proper footwork for sheer athletic ability. He was not challenged very often in college, however he aslo played behind the best front seven for the past two seasons. Humphrey could very well be a product of Alabama's system. He does play well against the run and has all the tools you look for in a corner.

6. Sidney Jones 6'0" 185 20 Washington 78

Yet another prototypical height, weight, speed (40 time 4.47) Corner in the draft. With 13 turnovers over the past two seasons, Jones is clearly one of the biggest gamechangers in the draft. Jones does not shy away from contact and can run with anyone. He does need to add some bulk if he is going to cover the bigger wide receivers at the next level. Tore his ACL at his pro day, which will clearly hurt his draft stock as he may not be ready to play next season.

7. Chidobe Awuzie 5'11¼" 195 21 Colorado 76

Four year started for Colorado and highly decorated as one of the Pac-12's best Corners. Another prototype with the height, weight, and speed (40 time 4.43) to play in the NFL. Had 7 turnovers during the past two seasons and 19 passes defended. Big contributor in the running game, racking up 18 tackles for loss during the past two seasons. Knows how to read the play well. He even had eight sacks over the past two seasons. He truly does everything well and adds additional playmaking ability that other corners do not. He should be a long term starter at the next level.

8. Cameron Sutton 5'11⅛" 186 22 Tennessee 74

4 year starter who suffered a fractured ankle in the latter half of his senior year. He had 37 passes defended and seven interceptions. He is an undersized, average speed corner with a lot of experience. He has fluid hips and his foot injury may have limited his 40 time this offseason. He is destined for a slot role and not too much more.

9. Fabian Moreau 6'0⅛" 200 22 UCLA 72

Three-year starter who had to redshirt in 2015 due to a foot injury. Amazing blend of height, weight, and speed (40 time 4.35). Highly praised by former head coach Jim Mora. Although he will be a project due to his limited knowledge of pass coverage, teams are going to be more than willing to take the risk with a player of his athletic ability and experience in a major conference. If he falls in the draft it will be due to foot concerns, and questions about his ability to play multiple coverages.

10. Desmond King 5'10⅛" 201 22 Iowa 71

King has announced his move to safety before the draft, this will be the decision of the team that drafts him however. A four-year starter with below average size. Teams are going to see that he will be limited to Safety as well due to his lack of measurables. He is a ball hawk however that will have adequate ability to cover from Safety. His 40 time is 4.5 and he shows the willingness to tackle will prove his worth for teams to take him as a Safety prospect.

11. Jourdan Lewis 5'9½" 171 21 Michigan 70

Two-year starter who has adequate measurables. 40 time of 4.54 added to the questions of if he has the physical traits to be anything more than a slot corner in the NFL. He was one of the best corners in college for the past two seasons however his measurables is what teams will knock when evaluating him for the draft. Fact is most corners like Lewis do not pan out. He should have a career in the NFL however he will not be a lockdown corner.

12. Teez Tabor* CB 6'0" 199 21 Florida 69

Three year starter for the Gators. Tabor had 28 passed defended during that time and had eight interceptions over the past two seasons. Good height and weight, however he is really slow for the position. Running a 40 time of 4.62 at the combine and a 4.75 at his pro day left scouts scratching their heads. Tabor's film looks like he can be a solid corner in the NFL, however if you are always going to be slower than the receiver you are covering can you really be that good? Due to his slow 40 times Tabor will fall however if taken by the right team, he could still do well in the right scheme. Might be best suited for Free Safety.

13. Ashton Lampkin 5'10½" 186 Oklahoma State 65

Injury prone, only able to start one full season. Has a good blend of size, strength and speed (40 time 4.52). Had two major injuries in college. If you watch his game tape he is not the most physical corner. Not too impressive of stats.

14. Gareon Conley 6'0" 195 21 Ohio State 63

Shocker, another corner over 6'0" and has a sub 40 time of 4.45. Conley has shown improvement over the past two seasons. He started the past two years for OSU. Hips are not as fluid as you would like to see. He does utilize his length better than most. He looks lost sometimes when receivers get a step on him to the inside. His draft stock is solely based on measurables.

15. Rasul Douglas 6'2" 209 21 West Virginia 61

Junior College transfer has burst onto the NFL prospect scene. I guess that is what happens when you intercept 8 passes, with another 8 passes defended along with being 6'2" tall. He did not run very well at the combine (40 time 4.59), however it is fast enough when you have the size that he does. He has shown the ability to battle onto the big show and never give up. Although he is a project, some teams will see the reward being higher than the risk.

16. Quincy Wilson 6'1" 211 21 Florida 60

Good blend of height, weight, and speed (40 time 4.54). Tough corner who could be plagued by penalties at the next level. Feet and hips are his biggest weakness and tends to grab when he is beat. He could be better off at safety if NFL receiver prove to be too quick form him. Some scouts view him as the better Florida prospect when compared to Teez Tabor.
