1. Josh Jacobs #8 Alabama Jr. - 5’10’’ 216 4.49 - 88 - Jacobs is probably the most talented RB in this class. Great footwork and quickness. Excellent burst. He’s a little hard to grade because played a hybrid position where he was in the slot and split out a lot. There is more tape of him run blocking than pass blocking. He is an impressive run blocker which certainly isn’t a bad thing even though he won’t do much of it in the NFL.
2. David Montgomery #32 Iowa State Jr. – 5'11’’ 219 4.62 - 85.5 - Uses excellent footwork to slow the game down and make defenders miss in small spaces. Very elusive. Has very few negative runs. Lack of breakaway speed shows on tape and will hurt his draft stock but Montgomery looks like a chain mover at the next level.
3. Devin Singletary #5 Florida Atlantic Jr. - 5’7’’ 199 4.58 - 84.5 - Despite his diminutive size Singletary is very explosive and difficult to bring down. Similar style as Kareem Hunt. His stats are eye-popping, especially his Sophomore season where he had over 2,000 yards from scrimmage and 33 TD’s.
4. Mike Weber #25 Ohio State Jr. - 5’10’’ 214 4.57 - 83.5 - Great feel for the game. Sticks his foot in the ground and he’s gone. Plays faster than his 40 time. Hasn’t had to carry a heavy load at Ohio State but looks like he could in the NFL.
5. Bennie Snell Jr. #26 Kentucky Jr. – 5'11’’ 222 4.68 - 82 - Snell has great agility for a big back. Excellent inside runner with great patience. Hits the hole hard. Lack of top end speed will likely keep him out of the first round but he should be one of the first running backs off the board.
6. Lamical Perine #22 Florida Jr. - 5’11’’ 218 4.55 - 79 - Physical runner with deceptive speed and good patience. Perine can do a little bit of everything but is not quite a good enough athlete to be a high draft pick.
7. LJ Scott #3 Michigan State Jr. – 6'0’’ 225 4.6 - 77 - Big back with light feet. Gets upfield quickly. Injury concerns and lack of elite production could have a negative effect on his draft position.
8. Justice HIll #5 Oklahoma State Jr. – 5'10’’ 185 4.5 - 76.5 - The Cowboys don’t have a great system for RB’s. Hill has homerun ability but seems to get bottled up more often than not when running inside. It’s hard to say how much of that is a result of the system because he is very explosive.
9. Myles Gaskin - #9 Washington - 5'10'' 195 4.53 - 74.5 - Very productive undersized RB prospect. Had over 1,300 yards his first three college seasons. Has shown he can catch the ball. He looks to be more quick than fast and his size could really hurt his draft stock. May have also hurt his stock by not coming out after his stellar Junior season and having his worst statistical season in 2018.
10. Bryce Love – #20 Stanford – 5'10’’ 196 4.4 - 73 - If you look at his 2018 tape he looks like someone who shouldn’t be drafted any higher than the 5th round. To be fair he didn’t have a lot of room to run most games and had some injuries. If you go back to his 2017 tape you see a great football player. He will probably be drafted somewhere in between.
11. Jordan Scarlett #25 Florida Jr. - 5’10’’ 213 4.55 - 72 - The Florida running backs are remarkably similar physically. Scarlett is a little more of a pure power back. Suspended all of 2017 season after being charged with credit card fraud.
12. Rodney Anderson #24 Oklahoma Jr. - 6'1’’ 219 4.5 - 68 - Fluid runner but not overly quick. Tough to bring down. Not much of a blocker. Anderson is coming off an ACL injury that limited him to just 2 games in 2018. It was his 3rd season ending injury at Oklahoma. His medical report will be important to his stock. Would have a 3rd round grade without the injuries.
13. Karan Higdon #22 Michigan - 6'0’’ 202 4.49 - 66.5 - Smaller back with good quickness, burst and above average speed. His tape doesn’t jump out at you. He doesn’t appear to have great vision or patience.
14. Wes Hills #4 Slippery Rock - 6'2’’ 218 4.5 - 64 - Transferred from Delaware to Division II Slippery Rock and was a man among boys. Has ability but will it be enough to make the huge transition to the NFL?
15. Jalin Moore #25 Appalachian State - 5'11’’ 205 4.59 - 63.5 - Shifty runner with good acceleration. Capable blocker. Should be fully recovered from a devastating ankle injury that limited him to just 5 games in 2018. It was the type of injury that can alter a career and draft position.
16. Travon McMillian #34 Colorado – 6'0’’ 200 4.57 - 61 - North, South runner with below average speed and feet. Looks bigger and more powerful than 200 pounds. Transferred to Colorado from Virginia Tech for his Senior year.
17. Alex Barnes #34 Kansas State – 6'1’’ 227 4.59 - 60.5 - Powerful downhill runner who may lack the speed and athleticism to stick in the NFL.
18. Qadree Ollison #30 Pitt – 6'2’’ 230 4.59 - 57.5 - Poor athlete for the position. Can be trusted in the passing game. Decent blocker. Good vision as a runner. Will draw comparisons to former Pirates RB James Conner but is not nearly as good of a player. Should still be drafted late due to versatility.
