Swerve Strickland vs Hangman Adam Page, Draw – Rating **** ½

Samoa Joe cut an intense promo about his Triple Threat Title match at Revolution. Joe will face both Swerve and Hangman as a result of the draw. He wasn’t happy about it.

Toni Storm def Red Velvet – Rating ** ½

Deonna Purrazzo was on commentary and there was a post-match confrontation.

Jon Moxley, Bryan Danielson & Claudio Castagnoli def Hechicero, Volador Jr. & Mascara Dorada – Rating *** ½

Undisputed Kingdom beat up and already injured Chuck Taylor backstage.

Tony Khan made his major announcement which was a huge upcoming episode of Dynamite called “Big Business” on March 13th. It will be in Boston. It was the announcement of Mercedes Moné’s debut without actually announcing it. It was expected but definitely qualifies as a major announcement for a change.

Konosuke Takeshita def Chris Jericho – Rating *** ½

AEW Tag Team Championship: Sting & Darby Allin def Ricky Starks & Big Bill – Rating ****

EVP’s Matthew and Nicholas Jackson The Young Bucks attacked Sting and Darby ruining their championship celebration. It was a brutal and bloody beating where the Bucks ended up with Darby’s blood all over their white suits.

Overall Rating 9/10

2024 Average Rating: 7.71

Final Thoughts – Unfortunately I really didn’t have time to do much of a recap this week because this was a banger of an episode. Without a doubt the best episode of AEW television in 2024! The card was loaded and the crowd of around 5,200 according to WrestleTix was the biggest of the year by far. It felt like a PPV. It was all action with very little talking. Everything seemed to mean something. The opener and main event were huge matches that delivered in a big way. The show ending angle highlighting the new heel character of The Young Bucks was brilliant. AEW went to great lengths to make this the most significant AEW Dynamite of the year. It was. This is the highest I’ve rated an episode of AEW television since I started writing about it in June of last year.
